Dining: Lunching Near Golden Gate Park
Curiously (and happily), there are no restaurants other than museum cafes in Golden Gate Park, but that doesn't mean your choices are limited to the hot dog cart. The newly chic neighborhood of Inner Sunset boasts a handful of excellent, moderately priced restaurants. Bare-bones traditional Ebisu, 1283 Ninth Ave., between Lincoln and Irving (tel. 415/566-1770), has been a neighborhood favorite for nearly 20 years. It serves some of the city's best sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese fare.
